Electric cars are catching on at a rate faster than adoption of the automobile. It might be 30 years until pretty much 99% of the cars on the road are electric, but adoption of electric in general is going to happen fast.
There is no issue with the grid and EVs, the grid can support almost every car turned into an EV with virtually no change.
As someone who is in the research industry as well, it doesn’t work that way. What he means by that last part is that executives take the data and then spin it to fit their agenda.
Except when you drive a Tesla, it is pretty obvious that it is a really nice car. The ELR, not so much. On top of that the ELR is pretty much an over priced Volt.
Personally I never understood the Volt nor the ELR. What they should have done was just release the volt under the Cadillac brand with same or similar price point as the volt. In that way it would be a decent priced luxury car.
The fact that his system used a LIDAR kind of makes it a non-starter. Even the cheapest LIDAR costs 8k-40k depending on how accurate you want it. The LIDAR google uses costs 80k.
Pretty much every self driving/autopilot car uses a self learning algorithm. If you read people talk about Tesla’s autopilot, the car pretty much learns on a daily basis and improves.
And yet many still do it, Mercedes s class had 8 years of model years. Audi A8 had 7 years. BMW 5 series had 6 years. Ford Focus is 6 years. Chevy Spark is 6 years. Hyundai Accent is 6 years.
But even then I will disagree. While Tesla did start production in 2012 mid year, it was limited production. (We are talking about like 55 cars which I think most went to founders and some celebrities). They only started actually shipping cars to consumers in 2012Q4 which by other manufacturer standards is model year…
I suggest you get your facts check, Tesla has highest gross profit on a GAAP basis. Their overhead costs are high due to high spending on rapid growth. If Tesla did not care about rapid growth, they could easily post high net profits.
Well Tesla is more profitable on a gross basis, as I said the reason why they show negative net profit is rapid investment into growth which they can increase and decrease at will. And VW is already at a point where there is a possibility it will have to sell part of itself. And the losses might amount to far more as…
While generally I would agree, what if they just have access to your kvm? But do not have access to USB due to bios settings not allowing it? An edge case but not impossible.
BYD doesn’t really sell electric cars per say. Most of those electric cars and mandated into fleets by government. This is why those BYD electric cars have virtually no sales outside of China. If you every drove a BYD electric car, it is TERRIBLE. Even for its price. It can barely make it up a hill and is the least…
The chance of that happening is very slim. Tesla has the highest gross profit margin of any US automaker. The reason why they have high net losses is because they are spending a lot of money on rapid expansion. In worst case if they get to the point where they can’t raise more money through stock/bonds. They can just…
Not sure why you are so surprised. And as far as release dates go they have so far kept every hard release date. They have pushed back soft release dates, sure. But so has pretty much every automaker. How many cars have we heard will be produced that never get produced? At least Tesla is actually set on producing…
Well Porsche’s parent company is not doing too well as of late due to the scandal, so that is hard to say. Tesla also is not only placing themselves in the car business but in the battery business. And Musk is willing to go all the way even if it bankrupts him (something others are not able to stomach).
I am already expecting final fantasy 7 to be episodic to the tune of 7 games. There is no way they are not going to milk every moment.
As square said, if they decide to remake final fantasy 7, that means that it is admission that they can’t make anything better. So if that is the case they are going to milk every penny…
I don’t think they cared. Any driveunit that is taken out is fixed and then put back into the next car that might have an issue. The overall cost is negligible, as seen by their warranty accrual costs.
