You overestimate how much personal data costs.
Henry Ford also started initially with a high-end model, then moved on to a mass production model. But this transition took years. Tesla might do it faster since they plan their affordable Model 3 for 2017 but overall the concept works.
To be more exact, Tesla is promising a 35k EV in 2017. With preorders starting in March 2016. (Though not sure if they will start with signature models like they did for the Model 3 or not)
The volatility of the stock is nothing new. It goes up and down. Right now it is sitting still due to wait for the Model 3, which is when it will skyrocket again.
But again, I have no eggs in the game one way or the other.
Which part of I don’t own any public stock is hard to comprehend?
Again, there is no company in existence that does not get subsidies directly or indirectly. And as I mentioned, Tesla is one of the least subsidized automakers.
Which tech companies do you think are not subsidized? Do tell.
As far as commentary on Tesla,…
Metaphors are set when they have a common usage. This is why you don’t go saying the bath is as hot as lava when the bath is cold. On top of that, when metaphors tend to have a common usage and you change around its meaning, it derides the metaphor of meaning because no one gets what you are trying to say. (Though the…
I don’t buy any public stock. All stock I own is private stock that I have in my own companies. I am fundamentally against the BS that goes on in wallstreet and do not buy any public stock. All stock I own is in companies I contribute to myself.
So even if I knew the stock would skyrocket like Amazon, Google, Tesla,…
I understand the concept of metaphor just fine, but vapor has a set meaning. Even as a metaphor. If you dilute the meaning than what you are doing is regressing us into an Orwellian 1984 where words lose their actual meanings.
As far as your claim of “not a single Tesla has been sold subsidy free”. Depends on how wide…
Sigh, and again you demonstrate how clueless you are in economics and running a business. Net profit is probably one of the biggest scams created by wall street. Its purpose is to let wallstreet buy out growth stocks when there is most potential for growth, and let the common man who knows nothing but net profit to…
That is not what vapor means. Is English your first language?
Vapor is used to describe non-existant products. If a product exists, profitable or not, it is not vapor.
And second of all, again, Tesla does make a profit on building cars. That is a fact, look at the finances. They speak for themselves. Tesla has the…
Again, look at the finances. Tesla has the highest gross profit of any US automaker. They also made a net profit in 2013Q1. But see my other post about net profit.
Seriously? All you are doing is spouting mass media nonsense. How about actually doing your own research instead of spouting BS.
1) Tesla does not get ANY tax payer dollars.
2) Tesla has the highest gross profit margins of any US car company.
3) Even if you subtract the ZEV credits and carbon credits, Tesla still has the…
So building a profitable car is vapor? You make 0 sense.
Plenty, how about this September when Mercedes said they refuse to be the Foxconn of the automotive world.
The Tesla Model S is a profitable car.
You are pretty clueless aren’t you? Tesla is not a vapor car company, the definition of vapor is a company which has no product. A company that actually sells cars can’t be a vapor car company by definition.
And why would Apple be wise to partner with compabies with high marketshare? That makes no sense from either…
Actually, the quality scores for Tesla are improving, not worsening. A misconception of the CR data. What ended up happening was older 2013 models were having minor issues here and there throughout. But the newer models continue to improve in quality based on CR data.
Tesla also has the highest gross profit of any US…
