Mostly because Subaru doesn’t seem to change their design language with any frequency. I don’t know their product well. You could easily have told me that’s the current model and I wouldn’t be able to refute.

The rear end is a tragedy by today’s standard.
That one disguises its age, probably because of the current popularity of stealth appearance packages. However, the majority of these cars looks disgustingly old. I would argue the exact opposite of you because I see this as the prototype of cars that where mind-blowingly awesome when new, but now look really bad.
If you threw on some fancy modern wheels, I think that’s all that would be needed to disguise the age of the exterior to people that didn’t know cars (aka most people)
I disagree. If you showed it to people that didn’t know about cars, I bet most of them would say late 90s, maybe early 2000s.
My first thought is, “oh my god, could you imagine how awesome it would be if they did that?”
What was his shit? He was a decent person that had 3 or 4 high profile incidents. Even the elite drivers do stupid shit (see Hamilton and Vettel for reference). His problem was slowness and lack of progression.
His results at the big team weren’t that bad. I think he even outpaced ricciardo on a couple occasions. But, holy shit, they had a hate on this guy something fierce. It’s like they locked him up in the town square for two years before finally proceeding with the public execution.
Hard to know who had the higher ceiling, but all of the objective data would discount your statement which is why one is a proven race winner who is always in contention, and the other is somewhere else.
Nah, I’m going with hell ball. More plausible.
Not on this though. Super inconsistent on track limits all weekend. I think Max had a reasonable expectation that this pass would be allowed.
I didn’t see the start of the race, but I did see plenty of other shenanigans happening that went unchecked until this pass. You may have a point about our qualifications to adjudicate a Grand Prix, but at the end of the day it’s us that are left totally confused about what the rules are when inconsistent application…
Sad thing is that the in-car looks like he had enough room for a legal pass. It was the jerk to the right that did him in.
Rick-E-Ardo
There no evidence that will happen. I don’t begrudge them if it does, but what in the past 3 years indicates they have the capability to jump to the front? I don’t think there’s any chance of a competetive engine until the formula change in 2021.
Maybe. But keep in mind that it’s also the slowest engine on the grid. So, if that’s the limit of performance, then they may have insurmountable problems.
“Once I add navi, leather, bigger wheels, and rear seats, it more expensive than an S.”
It’s yellow.
Yeah, no. It’s nothing like that at all.
I’ve never understood the resistance that drivers have to do Formula E. Maybe it’s the potential difference of the cars and that they remain divided by the current state of the series. I don’t know.
