Right! who cares about story or quality? As long as it’s successful! Hey, why not make it a half hour sitcom with a laugh track, those are successful! Or NCIS: Star Trek. That would be even more successful. SUCCESS!

Four TV series, ten movies, NASA naming the Space Shuttle Enterprise and 50 years of being part of pop culture, but you think Star Trek didn’t reach the mainstream until the reboot movies? Seriously?

What do you mean “boo”? The new movies are by far the most successful at reaching the mainstream. Without the new movies, a new Star Trek TV show would NEVER happen.

Yeah, his involvement puts this firmly in the “wait and see” category for me. Maybe I’d be more optimistic if he’d actually worked on Star Trek instead of a couple of generic sci-fi movies with Star Trek trappings.

Yeah, and they killed Star Trek before so...do you really want them back at it?

I’m pretty sure Rick Berman, Jeri Taylor, Brannon Braga, Ronald D. Moore, Manny Coto, and many others are all still alive.
