TBH I think this album is weakened by the framing device that is the TV series (which itself is excellent, by the way) and the subsequent "necessity" to produce these very songs rather than letting an album emerge more organically.

I, too, know the pain of transforming into a mangoat before the eyes of one's friends. You don't have to be alone…

Which, if you think about it, means that 'New Way Home' is *another* song about driving up Aurora avenue. Dave Grohl must have spent a lot of time cruising up and down 99 (which, admittedly, is a very therapeutic drive if you consider the view of the mountains and lake Union).

Gotta differ with you there. A couple listens in and I'm X-static…

Wait, what? If birds had the same density as air they would fly like balloons.

*Honk Hooooooonk*

THeeeeeeee SPACE POPE

I would call 'The Colour and the Shape' a classic album. It's highly emblematic of it's time and place, for me at least.

Just because the Emmy for "Technical Achievement in Wigs" isn't considered "major" by the mainstream media doesn't mean you and I can't treasure it all the same.

Season 2 *was* the holocaust. That this show managed to survive the caracters doing absolutely nothing for ten episodes is nothing short of miraculous.

A cold beer and someplace to shit with a door on it…

What? Where is the Howard the Duck movie we were implicitly promised by Guardians of the Galaxy? I demand awful Carter-era quasi-satire! THIS AGGRESSION WILL NOT STAND, MARVEL.

She may mean that she speaks both the Afghan dialect of Persian (Dari) and the Persian dialect of Persian (Farsi). The names are confusing because most Dari speakers refer to their language as Farsi (the name was changed in the 60s for political purposes).

WHAT IS DEAD MAY NEVER DIE

Good points all, Nunya!
Nunya's comment brought me back to this thread, and in the meantime I've looked and there were female companions to the order of the Garter in the middle ages; the practice was abolished however in 1488 by Henry VII and not reinstated until the 19th Century. Again, this was a way of noting

Strong take, Dolly, very strong.

Myeah, they're masters of the "No, really! We're enemies!" Kabuki at this point.

Mindless internet thinkpieces on Slate, Vox and Gawker have taught you well, young Padawan.

…that's the joke….
