Has anyone seen "When Trumpets Fade"? an earlier HBO effort at depicting World War II, I've wondered if it was any good, especially since it depicts the battle of the Hurtgen which is one of those parts of the war which people don't seem to know about.

Totally agreed. E company basically "misses the war" between episodes 3 and 4, since they leave Normandy just as the American beachheads are consolidated and they only return to the continent when Allied forces are closing in on the Rhine.

I'm trying to remember what character he was playing, and I can't remember him after episode 1. Was he one of the guys in the Company headquarters aircraft that was shot down then?
