1st Gear Does any municipality actually test chargers to be sure the power they promise is as advertised. Given how fragile the battery cells can be wouldn't periodic testing of every charger be prudent?

In High School our basketball team was in the state tournament. School provided Yellow Buses for everyone to attend. I have a license. My tired 1960 Chevy I6 3/4 ton didn’t appreciate long distance freeway speeds. 16yr old me only saw an oil leak. Walked to the payphone off the interstate to arrange a ride. My dad…
Eversource is an electrical company? Could be environmental conditions that leak into the underground Electrical Utility Vaults. Could easily be a small gas leak that builds over time. Can the gas company pressure test different segments of their main lines?
Ford can't stop dealerships from gouging on the Maverick. I get special pricing on the rare Mustang models. When they can screw up with a $20k truck what hope do they have to ever get it right?
I see it differently. Ford is the least transparent with their tow ratings. Many commenters on this thread have never heard of Ford derate with altitude. This being an automotive centric area of the web does not represent the general public. If many on Jalopnik are just hearing about this now it seems doubtful the…
No idea why Ford seems to be the only OEM to derate with altitude. I recall TFL did ask other manufacturers about altitude and towing. The ones that responded said the tow rating is the rating. Reading between the lines Ford seems to not have enough cooling capacity to keep up. The derate scheme is an easy way to have…
Living near the Port and complain about the Port. Makes no sense. Port of Entry locations are massive economic generators. Diesel emissions continue to get cleaner. Electric trucks are in the near future. Now residents would prefer well paying jobs go elsewhere.
Just did a search. I recall them mentioning the Ford altitude towing reduction at least three times. They might have also asked spokespeople of the other OEM’s?
It's from TFL I learned this. They have mentioned it two or three times that I've seen. They probably don't bring it up every time to stay In Fords good grace. It's within the last year TFL covered it. Might have had a problem with the Hybrid Ford one of them own?
I know a clean 91' for sale locally at 8k. However, I thought the 90' and 91's had possible engine problems from a manufacturer defect. The Craigslist ad with low mileage means the problem could still show itself?
My 1960 Chevy straight 6 truck also had a very easy to service heater core.
Ford still somewhat does the same thing today with their trucks. The max tow rating only applies at sea level. Ford derates their trucks with elevation. Higher one goes the lower the tow ratings. Chevy, Ram and Toyota do not derate according to elevation.
Toyota does things different. They are sold to regional distributors. Which then pass them out to local dealers. The Regionals have alot of say of what arrives. California and Texas typically have only the most popular options. Easier for customers to go out of state for their specific optioned vehicles. I've read…
Does Detroit misspend their road budgets? Wondering how something so obvious was missed before and after the fall?
Last October I bought a new vehicle. Many dealers wanted over Msrp. I paid Msrp. Found a dealer some distance away that would allow special order and below Msrp. Shop around.
Will each violation be reviewed by a badged police officer? How much of the fine actually goes to road silence efforts? Locally these types of measures pass with all of the funds going to something that sounds great. Funds are later directed to Legislative pet projects. I am for cutting down on terrible exhaust…
In 2001, it would have cost $30k to $50k to bring Natural gas to my block. Went with a heat pump. Heat pumps need replacement every 12yrs +/-. The fan and the pump each wear out. When my heat pump died the furnace was not capable of handling the current generation refrigerant. Needed new heat pump and new furnace plus…
Who cares? What percentage of the general public actually check Twitter? Post to Twitter? Many people probably hear what happened on Twitter from someplace besides Twitter. If it becomes terrible something will replace it. Ask MySpace about that.
Knew many people that had head gasket problems with Saturn's around 80k miles. No Dice. Especially at this mileage.
Lap centric hvac. Had this on a 93' Jeep Cherokee. Worked great.
