Subaru and others have software to eliminate most wheel spin scenarios. Bronco, Wrangler, 4runner and others with true transfer case are ok with wheel spin in 4low. 

If an electric vehicle has a problem it averages 25,000 gallons of water to extinguish a fire. Large capacity battery vehicles likely require much more. Difficult to obtain that much water on an Offroad trail.

Passed the exact law you mention in my State. Some metal recyclers still don't ask questions.  Other times they steal copper. Then steal a Uhaul and take their stolen copper to the next State over.

Lemon Law. Every state has different rules. Keep a log of who you talked to. What was said. Length of time for every repair and time waiting for parts. Depending on your situation and State consider a lawyer.
