Dealer mentioned new cars are not designed to be driven in the City, perhaps my wife didn’t know how to drive (dealer words). I traded the car one week later.

Reliability. Warranty eventually fades. I want oil and general maintenance appointments at the dealer. That’s it. I’ve owned two new vehicles that required many dealer appointments.  No more.

How about name upgrades? Sell the sizzle. 3 character names tell me nothing. Escalade, Raptor and even Camry says something.  CT4, XT6 are sci fi low budget names.

These engines vibrate more than a normal gas engine helping to move the dowel pin. These engines are more likely.to work hard every day causing more vibration than a typical gas engine. 

On my 96 Cummins I used the Jig method to place a bolt in front of the Kdp. Later Jigs changed to an angled approach to assist in pushing the kdp back into place. Highly recommend a Governor Spring Kit for the 12v Cummins. It feels like adding 30hp. Allows the engine to rev to redline.  Stock trucks fall flat around…

Many Dodge Diesels have been making 1k torque for sometime with a minor tune 

My 2006 Dodge Diesel with exhaust brake has 120k miles with over 50% brake pad life remaining.  Many of these miles are towing. I rarely use vehicle service brakes. Aggressive regen braking could extend vehicle service brake life. 

Small tires, small rims won't last against local road conditions.

Seattle/Portland area these year Civics are very easily stolen. In Oregon it's not illegal to steal vehicles.

Many Kia and Hyundai engines might be part of a class action lawsuit. Most of 2012 - 2019. Best to avoid those until they figure it out despite their safety ratings.   Nuetral: I avoid poor performing safety rated vehicles. 

I prefer towing with a manual transmission (Cummins). Allows compression braking with exhaust brake. Keeps service brakes cold for maximum emergency braking. 

Great article. Theres one in Florida with 19k original miles at $36k. Kinda hard to justify that on a used 9yr old vehicle from a dead brand.

The studies I read referenced full cradle to grave costs. Cost of mining for the EV batteries. Cost of maintenence and fuel for the gas vehicles. The average EV at the time easily beat the Chevy Surbaban. The Honda Civic and Jeep Wrangler are the two I recall that were better for the environment vs an EV. I have not…
