This is correct. In Japanese there are no consecutive consonants so translating words from other languages often requires putting a brief vowel sound. Japanese people would pronounce “Matsuda” similarly to how we say “Mazda”, with the “u” being very short and almost imperceptible.

Even in countries with good public transportation, the systems are usually limited to the major metro areas. Tons of people live in small towns throughout Europe.

One of the most impressive parts of this project are the absolutely massive immigration and checkpoint stations they’re building. The one next to Macau is literally like 1/2 the size of the Macau peninsula. The HK one near the airport is bigger than the airport terminals.

Peterd190 is spot on here. What a lot of people don’t realise is that Hong Kong, Macau and China are, for all intents and purposes, different countries. We have our own constitution, legal system, currency, language, alphabet, etc. So mainland can’t really “force” us to do anything for the next 30 years.

Hong Kong not included in this list but based on the price today at the Esso station down the block we would be the most expensive at $7.91/gallon, if precisely converting currency and litres to gallons.
