I know you can get remanufactured blocks, that’s not my point. All I’m saying is it would be cool if Toyota offered a factory-fresh crate 2J, and all I’m getting is push-back. It’s not like junkyards aren’t full of wrecked camaros and corvettes, GM still sells crate engines. So does Ford, and I’m pretty sure Chrysler.

Billet is great, but expensive too, really in its own category. Just a cursory internet search reveals that billet 2J blocks seem to cost $10-15k, and that’s just the block. Meanwhile a turn-key LS3 is $7500-9000. I still think a turn-key 2J in that price range would killlll.

How is Toyota not making 2JZ crate engines? - What jalop wouldn’t to buy a new 2JZ overnight from Japan? Maybe someone could finally throw out the weaksauce garbage engine from the LFA and swap it with a mighty 2JZ... /s

Some VW-spec BBS are convex. Not a fan.

Beat me to it. Got a chip in your windshield? Fuck you, car’s totaled.

Yes! The prototype is so damn gorgeous. If I were filthy rich I would buy an LP400 and convert it to full prototype spec.

That’s the Simeone Museum just outside of Philly! Well worth a visit for any enthusiast, specifically on their “demo days”. They roll out a few cars from their collection based around a theme (prewar racers, Monza 1000km, etc), and run them in their back lot. The lot is small, but it’s still great to see the cars up

In February 2019, the NY Public School 25 released the results of a new test of 3rd grade students and their effectiveness in doing homework at home. I was particularly disappointed with my results.

Easy! Since the front of the Supra features a number of fake vents, there’s no harm in covering them up with a license plate. Take your pick of possible locations, or use all of them simultaneously for a look that says “I like stickerbombing, but I also like government compliance”:

Will they give me a discount if I don’t paint over the blipshift logos?

Mmm yea, that works for me.

Yea, but the door garnish gets rid of the fake vents, so its ok!

I haven’t had a N52, but I haven’t heard of any big problems with them. I’m turbo-averse, so I’m super intrigued by BMW’s last NA inline 6. Also in a way the 1er hatch bears quite a resemblance to the Clownshoe Z3.

Sure, fair point, in a long, looong list of interesting cars available most everywhere except the US.

Here comes the flock of people posting old BMW posters of the rabbit with the big front paws. How predictable.

What’s a “svautobiography”?

I’m totally fine with that, especially if it keeps the manual alive longer. And it’s better than only having a manual in the base-stripper-hubcaps-blank-switches-version that nobody wants - then the “nobody buys manuals” line becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Chances are if you’re specifically looking for a manual

That yellow color is the color of winning.
