Mrecedes could be making more money if we just got the a class hatch in the states. I'd be rocking one now, if we got it, and a gr yaris. Instead I am putting a V10 tdi into my R8.

With all the retro designs, i kinda hope it’s gonna look like a fox body.
Fnny thing, Mercedes has their own training structure and didn’t give 2 shits if you were ase certified or not. I wasn’t when I worked for them. Infiniti on the other hand... I passed all 8 tests in 2 weeks. Could only take 4 a week. I retired from automotive work a few months ago. 20 years was enough for me, a girl…
I drove a 400 GT trophy at a track day. I very much prefer it to the F40 they had as well. It felt special, in a very French like way. F40 was faster, but not by much.
I am very interested in an Alpha giulia. But that is as far as it goes. Reliability is the big one. Maybe as a second car. But cost to purchase is too high, and when my daily has been rock solid since 2012 and paid off, I see no reason to replace it. I would need a truck more than a temperamental Italian car.
They are very lovely on the 456.
Do it yourself. These are stupid simple cars, easy to work on, and reliable. My BIL traded in his daily driver 456 with nearly 80k for a 550. the 456 got regular service, a battery, and 1 clutch in its life. It just worked. The 550 has been a bit of a problem child with some electrics but it is a much nicer car to…
If it was closer to me, I would have already bought it. NP all day. It would compliment my basket case Audi nicely. Unfortunately the cost of bringing it to the other coast would put it way to close to what a decent Boxster costs here.
I love the wheels, they just work on the Leaf. I have a set of Volk AV3's for my Prius C. A few need to have the barrels fixed, but they look at home on the car.
I’ve got 2 whole cars I need to scrap. My Prius won’t tow them, and renting a truck or a tow truck would cost me money even after getting the payout for the cars. So I’ve been postponing it for going on a year now.....
A few zeros (at least 6) every year for five or so years will get you an honorary PhD (education). How come you didn’t finish? I had some massive grants and scholarships that paid for my legitimate PhD (data analytics and research methodology). Nothing out of pocket, and actually profited a bit.
It is an honorary title like a Kentucky Colonel. We did a lot of charity work and fund raising resulting in a title of Dame for me, and Sir for the ex husband. All it does is get me a bit better service and complimentary goods overseas. No one gives a crap in the States ;) kinda like one of the PhD’s, it was bestowed…
Ha! I have 2 PhD’s and a Title of nobility. Yet I work on cars for a living. So, yeah.
For driving to work, just me in the car while having a bit of fun, Yaris all the way. The AWD is just a bonus. After driving several CTR’s, I don’t think I could live with one daily. Maybe as a second or third car, but still. The Yaris is right up my alley, plus, I could rallyx it. If we got them here. Yaris flies…
From a professional side of things...
The turbo Northstar was sitting closer to 700 hp but, yeah, there are better ways. The fwd LS is a great fit, and it bolts up to the stock Fiero transmissions as it uses the 60 degree V6 bellhousing pattern... it is a very common swap. The superhchaged 3.8's are great. Proven and well documented swap and very easy to…
Yeah. It was an old stripped down 84 coupe. The 3.4 twin cam woke that car right up, and the exhaust made the engine scream. Fun fact.... the Fiero V6 5 speed bolted up to the engine just fine, same with the clutch. Only major mods were to hack apart the engine cover and hinge box, and a bit of wiring. Even the A/C…
I had one of these engines in a Fiero.... This was an engine out service :)
I hated doing water pumps on these things. I ended up pulling the shroud and radiator together. This was before it was socially acceptable to just cut the damn shroud.
I live in Louisville. On my way home from work and stopped at a red light, I am pretty sure my car had the only Kentucky tag at the intersection. It was insane the amount of people congregating in areas before everyone went downtown.
