... and Actually Make It Useful 

TV directors have a rough job. They don’t have nearly the amount of control over the production as a director of a film does. They’re ultimately not in charge, the producers i.e. the writers including the show runner are. They are guests on the set for 8 days or so.

She wasn’t a producer at the time, but became one — and apparently not just a courtesy credit which you often see with show leads — the following season.

Oh, on that I agree with you. Her views on race have always seemed a bit ... naive ... to say the least.

After the painfully bad pilot for the How I Met Your Mother spin-off How I Met Your Dad didn’t get picked up by CBS in 2014...

I was a Leverage fan from the beginning. The first season was magic. The following seasons solid and even great from time to time.

It doesn’t help that Sophia Di Martino, while engaging, can’t quite match Wilson when it comes to the spark of her performance or her chemistry with Tom Hiddleston.

[Domina] stars Kasia Smutniak, Isabella Rossellini, Liam Cunningham, and Matthew McNulty.

Maybe I’ve just got some bias going because I liked the characters. I really like the first three movies, and even find Sum of All Fears very watchable.
