I came into this adaptation with so much hope, and continued to give it the benefit of the doubt week after week, but it’s just been a constant disappointment. It’s a damn shame, because so many of the casting choices and the performances were really good, but the writing and plotting were just so bad.

I thought about that possibility, but had that been the case I think Melanie would have reacted strongly to it. Instead, there was no reaction at all -- beyond the fact that Melanie was already showing pride at what her daughter just pulled off.

Anyone catch Alex call Wilford “dad” at the end of the episode?

Curious as to which storylines you’re referring to.

Wait what? Normal People didn’t make your list?

To this day, the best pumpkin-dish I’ve ever had was a pumpkin bisque. I dream about how good that lunch was :)

Nope, you’re absolutely right. I re-read the article at THR. She called someone to fix the issue.

The point isn’t the money, though you seem to be hung up on it.

Shondaland is the name of her production company. Shonda Rhimes is her name (which was all over this post, so either you’re obtuse or just acting that way on purpose).

I don’t think her contract was expiring at the time. And the person she’s talking about is problem someone who manages benefits and has nothing to do with her personally.

I wasn’t joking, but I was completely oblivious to those stories!

For the want of a $209 ticket, you could have kept an employee who has made you two BILLION DOLLARS in revenue.

AVC lifted the story from a much longer THR piece. The nuance missed was that Netflix had been wooing her for a while. This was the tipping point.

I mean, no one called Pitch Perfect 3 military propaganda ;)

I guess that’s fair. I’ve never really bristled when anyone called Top Gun propaganda, as an example. Because duh.

I’ve never really understood the Tony’s categorization rules. You have to be listed above the show’s Title in the Playbill to be considered the lead. None of the shows I saw on Broadway last year had actors listed above the title (which I guess makes sense, they were all largely ensembles). But Jagged Little Pill’s

No, took issue with the negative connotation implied. Nothing more. It’s a fucking Christmas movie for crying out loud, not a Leni Riefenstahl film.

Yeah, that’s exactly was I was looking for. /s

That’s fair, but the negative connotation was definitely there, as is apparent by the tone and tenor of the responses to my comment.

Never indicated it was one. Obviously I’m in the minority here.
