And here I was thinking it was just a game design decision.....I thought civilian non-combatants and the choices of how to fight and not kill them would just make the game design harder/more complex/boring.

Lolz, thanks for clearing that up for me.
PLUS a football (soccer) game with all the oldies and the filter on the camera to make it like retro tv. This is an awesome idea, it looks like an awesome game and it's just a pity I don't really have enough interest in BBall to want this game....
So wait, I'm buying BF3 on PC over the PS3 version because the PS3 version has been limited purely out of console players being the type of person who doesn't want bigger maps and more players per map?
I realize that that whole video may have been one big trolling exercise, but some of the contradictory bull and excuses he makes, and gaps in logic, the weak propositions etc, to justify his behavior show that he's not actually a very smart guy.
I never played it, but I hear project Reality was as MOD that changed the original game significantly.
So apart from the DRM issue- which I sympathize with but doesn't really bother me personally- are the issues being raised about the PC version make it any worse an experience than the console version?
There are a decent number of people who have gaming laptops that they take out with them.
Get it on both?

If there is a purpose and a decent range of procedurally generated stuff then it doesn't necessarily defeat the purpose. Of course whether it's worth it is a totally reasonable debate- as is whether or not it's achievable. My reason was that i'd love foot chases in a GT game and running through buildings would enhance…
Damn, I was going to ask what Origin was like, but your comment has me worried. My main (ex) hate for Steam was that it was an annoying obstacle to playing a game I'd bought- so much so that the bargain bin copy of Napoleon TW I bought was never played.
I see where you're coming from regarding enter-able buildings but I'm split. I loved the on foot chases through city alleyways and suburban back yards - so the thought of running form the cops through buildings appeals to me.
To me it read more like an excited sharing of an experience. It's more "OMG, you've GOT to try this!" than "The way I'm doing this is so much better than the way you're doing this."
Thank you for saying this....can't believe Kotaku allowed an insecure teen to write an article.
I feel the exact same way as you do. I don't care about PC exclusive or no multiplayer, but I sure as hell am not interested in Aliens or mutants or basically enemies that seem to defy the laws of physics and hop around like giant bugs with no weight.....
I tried MW back when it first came out and couldn't keep up online. I recommend Battlefield games because the big maps and bullet drop allow you to catch your breath and pace yourself until you get good enough to charge around. I played BLOPS after cutting my teeth in BFBC2, and while I never liked it enough to buy, I…
To be fair to Hope Solo, I read an article about her congratulating the Japanese team and the article was accompanied by a picture of her smiling and chatting to a Japanese player near the changing rooms, so she must have sought them out well after they had left the field and given them her best wishes....
You're an extremist, as well as very narrow minded. Did you seriously just refer to yourself as a "real gamer"? What? As opposed to all the fake gamers out there that spend money on consoles, PCs and games to just fit in? What you talking about?
Buck Shelford was his name.
