If only Disney could do this with Indiana Jones.

Two things.

I'd also recommend looking into the making of "Casablanca". The short story is the script was a mess and had numerous teams/individuals touching it, each lending a specific expertise to the script, ultimately comin together as one of the most highly regarded films of the 20th century.

Just gonna leave this here.

That lead pic is so ripe for a meme

The man was later seen walking out of the landfill with his wife and an undisclosed amount of money...

Geektyrant just posted some Han Solo concept art too about an hour ago.

Weird piece of trivia, but Howard The Duck came out Aug 1, 1986, exactly 28 years to the day GoTG came out, and thereby the exact amount of time since Peter was abducted within the movie.

Snowman, whats's your 20?

Forgive me if this has been addressed else where, but does this mean that Leia is just like all the rest of the Disney princesses now?

I really enjoyed it. I say that as both a fan and someone who works professionally as a story teller in comics and film. I wasn't expecting Fellini. I think the review is spot on, but for me there was enough to bite on to with Peter and Gwen as well as any time "Spidey" was on camera, that I was able to go along for

Thank you, other sensible internet navigator. Thank you.

"Ohhhhh, naaaaaaaaay Jabba, no BA-DAAAAAAA..."

Oh jesus. That would be amazing.

I guess basically, they tried to do something to "surprise" the fans in the Khan thing, IMHO and it backfired. I can't imagine that they'd do that again. Plus, I'd challenge anyone to throw out an EU villain that is as culturally ubiquitous as Khan was, leading into STID.

Hahaha! "Fool me once..."

Like many of the readers of io9, even as a casual fan of the original STAR TREK it was obvious that it was Khan to me. That being said, I'm not really of the mind that JJ sat around a table, scheming with his production staff plotting about how to torment the internet/fans. When you're making

The fact that its Kasdan gives me faith that whatever we end up experiencing, will have the narrative thread of the original trilogy. Even if that is an EU character, handled by the man on which Lucasfilm built itself on the back of.

I'm kind of 50/50 on it. In the past when its been used as a marketing ploy alone, like on "Cloverfield", the whole rabbit hole of the internet thing gets a bit old. However, in an age where spoilers are so ubiquitous that there's almost no reason to warn a blog's audience (I mean, there's a reason we frequent sites

I'm also willing to withhold judgement and allow myself a degree of childish glee that this is even happening.
