Do I really have to spell this out for you people?
Do I really have to spell this out for you people?
Thank you for the link! I have an appointment with my ortho in a couple days, so I am hoping he has some more ideas for me. Right now I am wearing my MBTs in the snow because I decided the ortho boot wasn't helping (and I have to take it off to drive, which hurts like hell) and these are the only completely rigid…
If I really have to walk in snow/slush, I wear Bean boots, but I rarely need them since I work in the Loop and the commute is generally pretty well cleared. Your b.f. can tell you how well his neighborhood is plowed/shoveled. If you have to walk through snow/slush, assume SALT, which will ruin leather, as others have…
I am basing my comments on the Loop because that's where I work, so you're right, it's probably not a fair assessment. I didn't think about the b.f.'s neighborhood (wherever it may be), I was just thinking about nightlife and shopping and such, which in general is going to be pretty well shoveled. OTOH, depending on…
I live in Chicago. The likelihood that you will actually have to walk right in snow and slush is actually pretty remote, unless you're planning on doing some hiking. You definitely want your feet to be warm, but the sidewalks in the city are always cleared pretty quickly. Unless you got caught in a snowstorm, I think…
I love these but unfortunately they do not pass the rigid-sole test for me. Which totally bums me out because in every other way, I think they would totally fill the bill for me.
Thank you! They definitely look like they would work. The only problem is that they are so snowboot-looking. I was hoping to find something I could keep on in the office. Doesn't have to be fancy (I'm even thinking men's workboots - I think if they're all black I can get away with it), but I think these look a little…
I have had a pair of the non-shearling-lined variety for years and I can attest that they freeze your feet. Keep 'em dry though, and the suckers last forever. Now I am looking for some winter boots that don't bend. And don't look like hikers. So far I haven't found any.
Help, Dodai, help. I have just spent several hours trolling the Internet for the stiffest-soled boots I can possibly find, and I have not purchased anything. I bought a pair of Dansko clogs because I know they have a rigid enough sole for my foot condition, but Dansko's boots are ugly and frankly do not look as rigid…
I dated (fairly seriously) a Scientologist 20+ years ago. He didn't tell me he was a Scientologist until a little bit into the relationship. If I had been stronger, I would have bailed then, but I stayed because I thought we could just keep that separate, and I'm sure he did too, at first. I learned a lot about it…
Echoing what I said to another commenter, UCC. UCC.org
Try a UCC church. I grew up in the denomination and attend one today. Ours is small, totally open and affirming (pastor is gay), and loves the traditional hymns and some good old-fashioned gospel music once in a while.
I actually liked this show a lot until last night's episode. My bullshit meter finally couldn't take it any more. See my comment from a couple of weeks ago.
Love the dress. Do not like the shoes with it one bit. More Idris Elba, please.
I like this show (I was a late adopter, catching up on Netflix in time to watch Season 3 in real time) but I gotta say, how many times do we need to see Olivia freaking out over a ringing phone that she knows is the President? And then yelling at him that she won't talk to him? I feel like I've seen that scene played…
Rum, thank you.
Yes to the underwear modeling campaign!! But I don't think Idris Elba would look terrible in anything, not even a dress.
Yes, we had a family friend (male) with that name when I was a kid. I always thought it was weird when I started seeing it spelled "Skyler" and "Skylar."
It's made in California, and although Trader Joe's says they came up with their own formula, I would bet it's manufactured in the Huy Fong factory, possibly with some proprietary tweaks for Trader Joe's.
