I was going to mention that. Clothing mfg. are only required to list one acceptable method of cleaning on the label. They tend to default to the most conservative one. So, I always look at the fabric content, detailing, etc. to determine whether something will probably wash OK.

So, Patrick’s dress shirts could probably

I work in a building full of Dreamworks animators. (I work for a different company in the building.)
Lots of young people presumably electronic-savvy, and they all punch the elevator buttons as if they were mechanical. I can’t figure out why they can’t figure out that the system is electronic and since you have to

Please see if you can find something about how to deal with telephone conferences where there are no body language cues, too. (Complicated by the audio latency on VOIP.)

Withholding on a bonus is at a supplemental rate of a flat 25% (plus FICA and any state withholding.) So, that’s why you are being subject to so much overwithholding. And it’s the law, so no, nothing you can do other than tweak the withholding on your regular salary. How easy that would be depends on how predictable

I agree. I set up something like this several years ago, and you have described my experience with it. It did not last long - at all.

Now I delete the junk and then it’s Read & Archive, Reply & Archive, or Create a Task & Archive. In other words, everything that has had the proper action taken on it is in the Archive

Setting up my Outlook to work with a GTD approach has improved my productivity and sanity immensely at work. I don’t have Outlook at home, and other apps don’t do what I need them to do. When I update my computer, I will definitely be getting Outlook for my personal use, too. I hope your boss is wrong about its demise.

I know, right??

When I was growing up, my mother kept an open jar of Best Foods (Hellman’s east of the Rockies) mayo in the cabinet. A habit I did not duplicate as an adult. Somehow, though, we all survived.

I am so bummed. Going to miss you. I’ve always enjoyed your articles - thorough and well-researched. Someone is going to have big shoes to fill.
Let us know where you land. Best wishes.

Yeah. I feel like the complaints in the article may be more common with smaller companies that don’t have a large enough account to get lower fees. I work for a Fortune 300 company, and we have low fees, good selection, and no restrictive vesting time line. The only thing we don’t have is a Roth 401k.

OTOH, I’ve worked

Yeah. I’ve been dealing with that, too. Once I googled my name with my company name and discovered that these scammers created fake websites complete with a description of the company (all fake and wrong. One described it as a law firm. It’s not.) and giving me a fake title.

I do think it was one “professional” website

I always recommend pre-prepping/measuring things when you want to be able to throw things together sans brain activity. Sometimes I prep ahead containers of veggies so I can make easy omelettes, too.

Absolutely agree.

I was just thinking yesterday how I think of Atwood’s novel every single time I see Pence. What an effing nightmare.

Haha. You’re probably right.

I always like these articles in theory. But the reality is that I won’t even walk on a hotel carpet without flip flops. No way am I getting close to lying down on it.

I’d say 30 years ago. In my youth, I was a centrist Republican of the ilk of HRC. I abandoned them in the 1980s when they started this crp.

Thanks. I have completely ignored La Croix, because I assumed it had a sweetener in it. (I’ve been fooled before. Blech.) I’ll have to give it a try.

You are expecting logic??

As a former customer, it does not surprise me either. They flat out stole money from me by draining the account with fees without any notice to me. (Long story I won’t detail here.) But they are at best unethical and at worst criminals at that bank.
