The transcriptions are hilarious. I don't need to rely on them at all, so I don't mind using them for comic relief.

Exactly. In areas where single family home prices are high, rentals are typically multi-unit buildings. It's the only way the math works to make it a profitable business. Of course, there are always exceptions - such as distressed properties. But in general, their premise makes sense.

You can make the pieces as small as you like. Don't go by hearsay. Just try it!

Yes that's right. It's 30 days of actual use. So, use it once a week and you can play with it for 30 weeks. If you are like me, it won't take you that long to decide though.

"One thing I find myself doing is dissecting old projects for spare parts and putting them together, I don't know if I could do that with this program. Does anyone?"

I agree. Very much my process, too. It provides a lot of flexibility - plotter or pantser.

I just started using Scrivener recently. It's the ideal solution for me as a place to keep those random ideas organized - a character, a scene, a concept - that aren't yet part of a project. I have a binder called "Idea Bucket" where I just dump them. Much easier to refer back to, sort (whether as note cards or as a

I admire anyone who's tackled NaNoWriMo. So far, I've been too chicken. Your method makes it seem doable even with a FT+ job.

A similar behavior is at red lights. Driver A is stopped and behind the limit line. (Which, as an aside, is becoming increasingly rare. Zooming over into the crosswalk has become quite common.) Driver B pulls up in the right turn lane (I live where it's OK to turn right on red) and Driver A rolls forward to prevent

Thanks. Reached him through FB. His supplier is in Ireland. But funny thing, after looking at all the links you posted, the next time I did a Google search using the same old key words, it came up with a Bush brand desk that is very similar. Do you think Google used an image search too? it was too coincidental. :)

Decent meals and a place to sleep in your old age. :)

I really like your point about focusing on the big picture. Not only do nutrients work together, but our understanding/discovery of them isn't complete. T. Colin Campbell, PhD calls the hyperfocus on micronutrients reductionist. I've been interested in nutrition since that first Basic 4 Food Groups class in junior

I took out the notification icon from my tray, too. I still check several times an hour, so any delay in my response time is unnoticeable to senders. But at least I'm not having my thoughts interrupted by announcements that there is cake in the lunchroom.

Take a look at the examples in the article. These are about doing your work well - proof reading, handling customers, etc. Telling people they are doing things wrong especially when you haven't earned your chops is going to rub people the wrong way every time.

I'm old enough to remember when personal issues were routinely brought into the salary decisions. Men were paid more because they were the breadwinners. Women were paid less because they didn't "need" the money. And this was legal. Fun times.

Me too. Walk in and rods run front to back. Clean goes in the back. I dress from the front. If I skip over pieces repeatedly, I know I need to think about decluttering those.

Cool, thanks. When I read the article previously on Unclutterer, I loved the concept. But even though I am not deliberately paperless, the fact is, I mostly am (paperless, that is.) So, the method seemed not relevant. You're right; it could be adapted to a lot of other collections.

LOL; a similar parallel occurred to me. This is why I read housekeeping articles. :)

Another great article, Alan. I meant to ask earlier but I forgot: Do you know what kind of desk that is up in the section about equipment and supplies? It's just what I've been looking for. Most L shaped desks I've seen are too long and don't have the curved side.

As someone mentioned below, if the vesting period is 5 years, that means it is graduated and you will vest a portion of it each year. Plus, it's just the match not the whole thing. So, it's not as if you are losing anything you contributed. If you are really concerned, then just contribute the 3% (you'll hardly notice
