THE MOVIE TOTALLY BUCKS HORROR CONVENTION!

You see, your Honor, I know there were two little girls and all, but one of them turned into a butterfly after a really protracted evening.

OH NO BON IVER PUT HIMSELF TO SLEEP.

This record is awesome.  That is all.

Not only did they re-release it, but they played 'Billy Gnosis' at a show in NYC in 2010.

1. Suffer
2. Recipe For Hate
3. Generator
4. Process of Belief
5. The Gray Race

It's a hand with wings attached to it.  Possibly crucified on a cross with feathers.  Whatever.

"True North’s closest relative in Bad Religion’s catalog is 1992’s Generator"

How does it compare to '24?'  That's all I want to know.

It'd really be easier and better for everyone involved if Jimmy Tamborello just remixed the 10 worthwhile Death Cab songs and turned them into a single release.

Yes, I get that The Woodlands is a suburb of Houston, which is to say that living there isn't the same as living in the city itself.  And so we still encounter comments like above

IMO over time Neon Bible has revealed itself to be the most meaty and rewarding of the three.  Great great great.

I'm in Braeswood now, grew up near what is now the Beltway (wasn't there when I was a kid).  As a lifelong Houstonian I think it's clear that (A) that album is pretty spot-on and (B) The Woodlands isn't Houston.

Correct, Houston is no Austin.  There's absolutely nothing cool or interesting in Houston.  If our status as being flat and ugly prevents the nation's coolest transplants from flocking here, I guess we'll have to live with that.

I'm not sure 'Wienerschnitzel' qualifies as a "great" Descendents song.

I always saw this as a post-'Heathers' grab.

Saw these guys open for either Mates of State or Against Me! (can't remember which) and they were fine.  If you want a good example of Pitchfork's tendency to suck all the fun out of rock music, read their review of this record.  "Sure, it's big dumb party music, but is it the right kind of big dumb party music?"

You can tell her there's a hot sun beating on the blacktop
She keeps talking she'll be walking that last block
She can take a subway back to the ghetto tonight.

Frogs.

Definitely.  You're right, that song is silly.  I'd say this new one is a kissing cousin to Process or Stranger Than Fiction.  It's not in league with the original Epitaph run, but it's better than most since.
