Can confirm: he got the Pokemon toy and is playing with the spinner and asking me to play the card game even though I’m trying to get work done so clearly I’ve made a terrible mistake.

Not to ignore the great job he did, but the animators also had to come up with a bunch of weird tricks to get the animated characters to properly interact with the live action actors. The best example I heard was a scene where Bob Hoskins’ character’s eyeline was a bit higher than it was supposed to be, so the…

It’s really crazy how far ahead of his time Hoskins was in that film. He was doing a hell of a job of what was effectively green-screen CGI-era acting years before that was even remotely a thing.
