The taillamp lenses used on this example have the thin black horizontal stripes. These lenses originated from the 1984–1986 Mustang SVO and were later used for the 1993 Mustang Cobra and Cobra R.

It’s just another derivative of the boring assed look VW has for styling these days. Nothing makes it stand out as an individual model. It’s just the usual VW design skewed from small CUVs to bigger ones. No one will ever want to play a punch buggy-like game to spotting one of these.
