They actually had 2 engines, the 1.9 Opel design and the DOHC LLo twin cam made in Spring Hill. The twin cams were horrible - they would grenade.

Hehehe... I have a 96 SL1 (exactly as in your photo, color too) w/ a 5 speed, the Opel 1.9 L and 77k on the clock. It has been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned.
