I agree; it doesn’t bode well for those other kids’ futures. What happened to Ahmed was awful and wrong, but getting out of there now will hopefully be very beneficial for him. If only the other kids there had that chance as well.

I’m so disgusted by MacArthur ISD’s response to this whole situation. Those involved seem to believe that they really, truly did nothing wrong. It’s atrocious.

I looked at the form though and they only send birthday greetings to people turning 80 or older, and veterans turning 70 or older. Methinks this is a setup.

M*A*S*H is just so damn good. I freaked out when it finally came to Netflix. Both it and The Golden Girls are very much of the period they come from, but are still timeless in so many ways. I was born in ‘87 as well, so it’s not like I watched either show when they first aired. They’re really just that good.

I love New Girl and I love Megan Fox and I make no apologies for either of those things. I am very excited for this.

Roseanne is very good. Sometimes I catch an episode on the weekend and I am shocked to be reminded of how progressive it was, especially in comparison to most of the sitcoms on [ETA: network] TV these days.

Also good, probably like top ten, but they’re no M*A*S*H or The Golden Girls.

There are many things to love about you, Bobby, but your love of the Golden Girls is possibly the greatest of all of them. Aside from M*A*S*H, it is the best sitcom that has ever been on TV. I watch it often and it always makes me laugh.

This sucks so hard. She’s already defiantly worked to become the best soccer player in her entire country. She wants to represent her nation, one that only half-heartedly supports her and routinely undervalues her, but she can’t even do that because a man said so.

I never respond to them, but I swear a new person takes it up each week. I dread those, “Blah-blah has added you to the group ‘~*Blah-blah’s Jamberry Online Party!!!*~’” notifications. Ugh.

The biggest reason I haven't quit is I was in the military and so many of my friends are in far-flung places around the world. Facebook is the easiest, most centralized way for us all to keep in touch, like it or not. I think I just need to excise the dummies I went to high school with who are trying to sell me…

I use Twitter, but mostly to fuck around with Kinja people and yell about sports. Most people I want to keep in touch with don't and wouldn't use it, which still makes Facebook somewhat necessary or at least useful.
