One of the more re-watchable comedies I’ve seen in recent years. It doesn’t matter that nearly all of the high schoolers are played by 27 year olds or that the film’s third act was about 5 minutes long, it’s just a blast from start to finish. The entire cast gelled so well and Stone is completely brilliant.
The Jez review is the only negative one I’ve read (it’s currently sitting at an 88% on Rotten Tomatoes). But it’s excellent, do yourself a favor and see it.
I’d call it a sci-fi movie more than a horror flick. There are moments of real, unadulterated terror though.
Are you saying she wasn’t a good choice for Katniss?
Saw it last night. Completely brilliant. Also Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong’o are two of the most attractive people I’ve ever seen
John Mayer, Vince Vaughn, Tate Donovan
Svetlana’s arc the last couple of episodes has reeked of “hasty character write-off” so I’m not surprised that Goreshter is leaving. I’ll miss her, but the throuple storyline has been such a trainwreck all season that I can’t blame her. They’ve been all over the place from Kev’s cancer scare to his family to him…
Yeah we’re approaching final-nail-in-the-coffin time with ‘Shameless.’ It’s a shame, and it happens to most shows that run for nine years, but I still can’t get over how bad it’s gotten. Several people have mentioned it, but Fiona’s transformation from rough-edged, resilient scrapper to a self-obsessed,…
Lawrence’s performance in ‘mother!’ runs circles around everything she’s previously been Oscar nominated for. That said, I hope she ‘wins’ it because she’d probably pull a Halle Berry and show up to accept it.
I felt like supporting was appropriate for her. BLL was an ensemble but if it had main characters they were Kidman and Witherspoon.
What a bizarre comment. In my experience a degree is no great indicator of intelligence (several of my professors in college had doctorates in nursing and were morons) and Pattison is hardly an idiot. Also maybe wait until they confirm they’re dating before you rationalize their break-up?
Agreed that it’s certainly not rap. People want to make Taylor as problematic as humanly possible so of course she has to be ripping off black music. She owes much of her new album to Britney’s “Blackout,” as does virtually every pop artist who has released music in the last decade, regardless of race.
The “Julia Roberts is here” moment from Ocean’s 12 made me want to throw myself off a bridge.
“Look What You Made Me Do” was a party trick that people took way way too seriously and I happen to enjoy the hell out of it. I also really dug the guitar riff on “Malibu.” Agree on the rest, and I’d also like to nominate Demi Lovato’s grating mess “Sorry Not Sorry.”
That’s how I feel as well. It’s weird that they’ve depicted Ian’s disorder so poorly because they’re absolutely nailing a similar plot (Lip’s sobriety) by going that route.
People forget Lopez was an actress before she was ever a singer. In 2001/2002 she was a pretty major box-office draw and certainly the bigger star of the two.
I really thought the show had turned a corner with “God Bless Her Rotting Soul,” but the episodes since, last night’s in particular, have re-defined “meh.”
I always liked the Golden Globes despite how dumb, drunk and rigged they are, but they truly became obsolete when they gave Best Actress in a Miniseries to Lady Gaga for AMERICAN EFFING HORROR STORY over Kirsten Dunst, who gave the performance of a lifetime in ‘Fargo.’ I don’t care how meaningless the award is, that’s…
After the flack Yates (deservedly) got for his thoughts on the matter, you knew she’d have to come out and say something. This is, to put it mildly, disappointing as hell.
