It's definitely not fair, I agree. Particularly not to the girl who advanced because she didn't even get her blind audition shown. It's a decision made with keeping the show moving in mind instead of the best interests of the contestants, which is probably also a pretty cynical move tied in to the fact that The Voice

I doubt the steal came from the Jesse Campbell cut because he was cut after the Battle Rounds and this only applies to that.

I liked this episode when it wasn't focusing on the new kids. They're all still bad, and Kitty being a Bad Christian was another horrifically lazy Quinn Fabray callback. I'm not looking forward to the inevitable scene where Dianna Agron shows up to be all like "YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG GET IT TOGETHER."
