I’d agree with no tipping if drivers were paid well enough and had benefits that made it unnecessary. Some with servers in restaurants. As this isn’t the case, however, it’s pretty shitty of Uber to discourage the practice.

I don’t think it’s worth spending the extra money just for performance - the performance gains between, say, a 128 GB SSD and a 1 TB SSD are fractional. We’re working on the margins here.
