It’s been 19 years now, I picked it up from a used car dealership my dad did restomods for at a reasonable price. I needed something that could reliably eat up the miles between Lubbock and College Station while I went to school.

Seen it too many times before even with something as simple as a drag strip.
I can’t find the release, but word got around at PRI that the NHRA was dropping it to 9 seconds for vehicles made after a certain year.
I hope there’s options for stuff like that. I want to do a twin motor setup on my Firebird when the time comes haha.
Or like 30 seconds with the clone brush tool.
Don’t forget, this was the crazy days of racing where you’d have 1000 mile races on public roads. Being able to stretch the distance between pit stops was a huge advantage.
But we’re pc now so it can’t be cp, just nd, but that’s nbd because iykyk.
P1133 could be a few things
1) Bad O2 sensor
2) Exhaust leak on the driver side log manifold.
1 is pretty straight forward, 2 could be an exhaust manifold gasket, or the EGR gasket or hose could be leaking...which is on that manifold as well.
If it you hear a ticking coming from the engine bay on startup that doesn’t go…
The 3.8 isn’t a bad engine, keep fluids in it (and in the right location) and it’ll keep lumbering on.
The clutch on the 4th gen is suuper forgiving and soft (in my opinion).
It’ll rattle, and buzz, and creak, but it’ll get you from a to b pretty much every time. The hard tops are less prone to leaks as well.
Looking forward to the coverage. I’m prepping for PRI this next week, pretty happy to see they have a dedicated EV section. Have to be there for setup for our work booth on Monday, but I hope to get around and get some media coverage while I’m there.
What’s fun is some independent shops w/ sniffers have found even well-modded cars on E85 without cats performed better than their stock w/ cats variants. But that doesn’t fit the agenda.
It sets an odd precedent. What happens years from now when they just cancel registration for ICE powered cars?
