It’s been broken for so long and somehow continues to get worse.  It is very obviously by design.

I get them for replies but not stars anymore

I know this story is about Russia but what it really highlights is how even Putin’s Russia is doing more to save lives than the US. Now I understand why the US will never have gun control, people, citizens dying simply doesn’t matter to Americans.

Ruby Rhod approves.

It’s not here to spy on you (seriously, you don’t have or know any information worth stealing, you peasants!), it’s here to be a mobile screen capable of displaying advertisements.

This cliched infatuation with portraying Amazon as evil is getting old.

ppl make too much of the privacy/danger concerns with these home robots. i get the temptation, but really, it’s just silly, and inevitable.

Is Australia in cahoots with Verizon? Oh, the unbridled thrill of being able to install even more crapware on Android devices on top of layering it thick on iPhones is surely making Hans Vestberg orgasm right now.

That was my thought as well. Since we don’t know precisely what Lincoln looked like — per the idea expressed here — can we know if Time-Travel Rephotography is any more accurate than the original? (As well, there is the problem of the same person looking quite different in different photographs, due to lighting,

“the mighty ships tore across the empty wastes of space and finally dived screaming on to the first planet they came across - which happened to be the Earth - where due to a terrible miscalculation of scale the entire battle fleet was accidentally swallowed by a small dog.”

To be fair, I know a fair number of jobs where employees would rather be slow and take their time, because being efficient and good at their job just isn’t worth it. You can see it when you get somebody young and new to the work force. once they learn the ropes, they are WAY faster and more efficient than long-time

Is it that he found his inner center though, or is it just that he finally has one consistent certainty to latch onto, and that’s allowing all the other pieces to fall into place?

The Good Place is the only TV show that has ever given me an existential crisis precisely because it exposed the fundamental unfairness of any eternal afterlife. I have never been a very spiritual person and had never given the afterlife much deep thought other than a sort of vague notion of heaven and hell. That this

I get wanting someone like Hitler to suffer. I’m only alive because he lost. But the thing is that even if he was made suffer as long as all the people who his decisions hurt (and for each one of them separately) and for all the lives they could’ve had and then for all the bad consequences of that destruction for all

I doubt its the ONLY reason. I wonder how much they spent on support for people that broke headphones in their devices? My daughters have each broken at least 2 sets of headphones off in their iPads requiring me to remove them with superglue and a toothpick. How many water damaged phones came in with the entry point

I’m told the free market will fix this.

That, of course, is the other issue — mapping all those hazards and upgrading roads to a standard AI can handle will be expensive. I was on a highway late in the day last week where there were cats eyes, road stripes, and old road stripes that had been partially ground down but reflected sunlight in the same way as

Computers were going to reduce the amount of paper in our lives and give us more free time. I think we would be hard pressed to find one bit of technology that truly improved our lives with no downside.
