Agreed, and I don't think it's an issue on Girls either. Pretty much all of the main characters are called out on their selfish bullshit at one point or another. Hell, Marnie got slapped right in the face (by a dude, no less) last week, and in my opinion the audience is supposed to feel that she had it coming.

I don't think the Secret Service thing was her fault. Part of being an agent is maintaining a sense of decorum, and openly laughing at her jokes (especially when they don't really know each other, if they had more of a relationship that would be a different story) isn't really professional. The screwup was letting the

I think her character would have to be in her forties, since getting pregnant at 50+, while technically possible, is so rare as to be a bit ridiculous.

Don't forget Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain, who have their hands/words not only in Veep and The Thick of It, but the absolutely brilliant Peep Show as well.

Definitely, it's like the anti-sitcom trope where every character lives alone in some gorgeous Manhattan apartment. Even members of Congress have roommates in DC.

I didn't notice that. Definitely makes sense for his character. GW is a very good school, but has something of an inferiority complex — much like Jonah's White House gig is in actuality pretty cool, but he tries way too hard to make it seem extra-amazing.

It looked more like one of those JibJaw videos (or whatever they're called) that my dad sends, not so much a viral YouTube hit. Now, AutoTuned Selina would have been spot-on.

I'm not sure if this is what you were going for, but your comment makes me think that Rabin was unfairly excoriated for his expectations of 30 Rock. I don't remember his reviews well enough to say whether he was asking for development or merely consistency, but the walkthrough with Robert Carlock cemented for me the

I do like that they gave Mike some slivers of competence in "Baseball." He seems to be decent at dealing with the press corps.

I see what you mean, but a lot of that northland is useless/unarable compared to the relatively rich riverlands. It was my understanding that Balon's plan was to take advantage of the absence of most of the Northern lords to raid the hell out of their lands for a bit and then get the hell out of there. Keep in mind
