Holy **** this is just what I’ve been looking for. I just got back from a grand tour of India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, Bangladesh, Goa and Sri Lanka. And right before I left I had just completed Titan Quest and was craving another Diablo-like with real mythology. This is fate man! Fate!

I recently found a huge box of MTG cards in my parents’ attic from when I was really into the game - 1997-2000. There’s around 500 cards there and plenty of shinies and things. I spent a whole day sorting them out and valuing them hoping to have discovered a nice nest egg. Total value: around $100. Guess I’ll keep

The devs totally look like eggs themselves.

Probably for the best.

All it gives you is 3 achievements. It’s a completionist joke and you don’t lose any content for skipping them. In fact, you even get an achievement for not collecting any of them. It’s just a joke, and a funny one at that. It’s not bullying. People are so quick to get offended these days.

I played the first hour of the game, and roared with laughter the whole way. No game has made me smile like that since... well I can’t even remember. I thought Bordlerlands was funny when that came out but I guess I’d just forgotten what funny video games were like. It’s a good game first, and a funny game second. I

That guy is a George Lucas cameo :)

The sanctum city was one of DS2's best areas, but the actual spacial design of it suffered the same problems as the rest of DS2 - laziness and a poor understanding of what makes the souls games’ areas so fun to explore.

Erm, Dark Souls 2's dlc was not stellar. In fact it was the worst, half-baked, cheapest, recycled and aimless content in the entire series (all 5 games).

Dude you got absolutely spanked lol.

After completing Nioh (in 60fps mode) I went back to Bloodborne and started a new game. Believe me, it’s not “literally unplayable”. In fact it’s a much better game in every way, apart from the performance.

That’s not the same game, though. Matt decided to turn his Pico8 version into a full blown game.

The original Celeste was developed last year for the Pico8 mini-platform. You can play the original for free here (it’s really fun):

Weirdly, I just downloaded and played the demo of this about 5 days ago. It’s... not good. I love the idea of the project but it just throws all the magic of the original in the bin.

brb

There’s a distinct lack of F-Zero type games, though (and an abundance of Wipeout types). I just played this and it feels just like F-Zero X/GX. I can’t describe how much that pleases me. I don’t enjoy wipeout because of the heaviness of the vehicles and the lack of genuine speed.

Actually Evolve is best played never.

Thimbleweed Park is releasing really soon. I played it a couple of weeks ago and it’s magic.

Edward Kelley was a really interesting choice for the villain. The Elizabethan occultists were a fascinating bunch. Last summer I went to a John Dee exhibition in London with tons of his possessions such as crystal balls and the like. It was great. He was also the inspiration for Prospero from Shakespeare’s The

Funnily enough, Edward Kelley, the game’s English occultist villain, was in real life of Irish descent. Another interesting guy to read about.
