But this clearly uses a ton of graphics from GBA Pokemon games.

Condescending make you feel good?
I appreciate that, and it’s kind of nice. But this thing took 9 years. Nine. Years. That's a big part of your life to learn how to do something professionally. Imagine what you could do in 9 years if you applied yourself. I make games as a hobby and after 6 months of studying code in the evenings I had a working…
It’s not a C&D order but they have demanded the download link is removed from all sources.
Why kill the Metroid 2 thing then? That’s about as harmless a use of their IP as it gets.
I make games in my spare time, but I wouldn’t expect to get a job by taking this to a job interview and saying “hey I spent years remixing Nintendo’s Pokemon assets into a fan game”. I make my own stuff and I feel like that’s a better use of my time. I could be wrong, that’s just my opinion. I downloaded this thing…
Yeah good point. It’s weird though, I learned to code in C over around 5-6 months. I’m not a pro by any means, but I’ve made a few little games in my spare time. This took these people years to make. They must really love Pokemon.
That’s interesting seeing as how Nintendo killed the fan made Metroid 2 remake after about 1 day of it being online (after being in development for about 5 years). Pokemon is a much bigger and more lucrative franchise than Metroid so it strikes me as odd that they’d blindeye Pokemon fan games but not a game that uses…
Seeing as how Nintendo will kill this in the time it takes me to write this comment, I genuinely wonder why the people who made this didn’t invest all that time into making their own original game, which they could actually sell. As soon as Nintendo sees this they will crush these guys’ hard work, so I kinda think...…
DF is unquestionably the deepest and most ambitious simulation ever attempted in a video game. It took me many attempts to get into, but when I finally cracked it, I discovered a game so mind-meltingly impressive that my own mind feels insignificant compared to its processes.
You’re right about those games’ stories, and JRPG stories in general. Sometimes, occasionally, a JRPG can do it, though. Chrono Trigger and Earthbound are good examples of great stores told brilliantly.
Ha, well the leading girl’s short shorts reminded me of Kaory from Akira and her inappropriate-bike-riding costume but yeah it’s not the most practical. I mean the girl on the far right has a long skirt but that’s just as bad unless she was planning to ride side-saddle.
Top image looks like an all-girl gang from Akira. I like it. It’s like The Warriors crossed with Akira.
No one can celebrate Metroid’s 30th as well as you just did. Applause.
I’m replaying the Arkane stuff in prep for Dishonored 2. I’ve just finished Dishonored and its expansions and now I’m onto Arx Fatalis. Such a great game and very overlooked. Great story and razor sharp atmosphere with some really deep gameplay.
Yeah I actually just read the first issue! I found it... alright! I thought the story that it built up was really interesting but I wan’t so sure about their idea of Corvo’s personality and attitude. Personally I mostly play Dishonored without killing people so I wasn’t that keen on him cutting his way through loads…
All they needed to do was add one single line of dialogue where she acknowledges the good stuff the player can do for her in the game.
Yeah I agree, I’m much more excited about this Prey than the first game or the bounty hunter thing. I’m saying they might have got a better response from this project by announcing it as a totally new IP in the System Shock / Horror genre. Personally I just want to play this because I love Looking Glass type games and…
Out of interest, why did you buy Dishonored 3 times and never get into the city? It’s an incredible game when it gets going (2 or 3 missions in). I’ve played it to completion at least 5 times. I really recommend trying it again.
