Yeah, his description makes it sound like the commercial was full of wanton violence. There’s a disconnect with what’s actually depicted. I don’t think shooting a (potentially cannibalisitc) giant mutant to be an act of blood sport.

Additional counter: commenters on Polygon were pointing out that there’s not any homicide in the trailer being called out; he shoots at a Super Mutant at one moment in the trailer.

The killings and physical violence were not to protect innocent life, but instead were repugnant and morally indefensible images designed to appeal to young consumers.

The original Destiny was pretty darn good, and a lot of people enjoy it. It looks like the second one is shaping up to improve on the formula while delivering a similar gameplay experience, which isn’t a terrible thing.

Sorry but more often than not there have always been a predecessor that needed to be made before a franchise really takes off. No one gives a shit about the original Street fighter, Mario Bros didn’t start out as a side scroller. Castlevania wasn’t a the item/ability Metroidvania game people expect from those titles.…
