Yeah, honestly I can understand making a bad call during the mission itself, but going in without ALL the loyalty missions completed is such a foreign concept to me. IIRC, the Illusive Man basically tells you every time you talk that your team needs to be loyal for the suicide mission to work.

This is one of the reasons I love the ending of ME2. The lives of your crew all come down to you making the best choices as a commander, not because of any combat ability. If you did everything to prepare yourself and the team, if you paid attention to their stories and personality, and made the decisions accordingly,…
