The cost of food in Iceland is insane. My friend is there now and she got a tuna melt and fries and it cost her $17. Cheapest thing on the menu at a very modest cafe. However, she is not in a major city so that may have something to do with it! Moral of the story: go to Iceland as long as you pack your own sandwiches.
