Been there, done that, yes.

And, as an additional qualification, it shouldn’t be something that tempts ironic murdering (A Hummer gets you a can of gas poured down your throat) or guilty satisfaction murdering (BMW, exceptionally riced japanese car).

The EFI boxes were a bit... interesting. At least when it was new.

My mom used to drive her Karmann-Ghia sitting tailor style because the floor was rusted out.

This is a hard one. I understand your feelings. You want something freeing, but somewhat reliable, a little safe, but... not soul-killing.

Well, at least you can turn it off.

A 405 HP Vette with no chassis flex, a good but not perfect suspension, and, most critically, no electronic nannies between you and the road. I think this has ABS and that’s _it_.

Yes, and it’s way better than it was in the 70s, but c’mon. Underspoilers! Channels to wick air away from the wheels! You could get creative as heck with something like a Trail Runner!

Speaking of this, I’ve been wondering how much you could improve aerodynamics by covering the underside of a car

Six hours in a flood situation. Had to get in to fix a major problem.

I got a Mustang Convertible in January during a blizzard. It was... not good on the ice. But the top was fantastic and solid.
