Your car is gorgeous. The issues I expect from what was done to it, but it all looks done _right_, and the issues described fit that. 

But my phone does that right now.

If they made a Crosstrek XT, I’ll admit, I’d be tempted. But I’d have to see how it handles in the turns.

In my most recent accident, a gentleman with a brand new (dealer plates) Cadillac, top of the line crossover whatever, backed into me at two miles per hour, and kept backing in till my fender bent. The only paint damage was caused by the back up sensor. 

I have had a number of accidents in my life. In four of the five most recent, I was doing zero miles per hour. In two of them, I wasn’t in the car.

I grew up in a yellow one of those. Great darn car.

This is why I have a tiny portable air compressor in my car. I’ve had two variants - a kind powered by my battery bank jump starter and a kind powered by my 12v. Either is good. (I also insist on having a battery bank jump starter.)

I will confirm that it got better when they went fresh. On the other hand, I feel their new chicken strips were a decline - dryer, and the breading is much less tasty.

He’s still in jail, just failed a parole hearing last month. 

Get a junk engine, swap it in, and rebuild the original, then.
