The hardware is “ok” for Nintendo but not for 3rd parties. Nintendo lost it because they are stuck in the past and need to redeem themselves. They need a unified account system, HD graphics for all types of games (not just Nintendo products), achievements, and add a standard controller for all types of games. I may

Rush to develop a new console? They’re following the same schedule as always.

I’ve actually considered doing an article about “the hero’s interval” just talking about how many famous themes rely on fifths. This angle felt more approachable, but... still could happen. Because yeah, man. Fifths.

I get the feeling he might be a raging pirate. DRM is now so invisible, you shouldn’t even notice it’s existance. Wind back the clock 5-10 years, when you legit had a reason to be mad about DRM. If you have nothing to hide, DRM is a non issue. The only down side is EA’s strong armed no modding policy.

Wait, so I can only install one of these games on one system? If I log in to my Steam account at a gaming cafe or a friend’s house it won’t work? What if I change my hardware? Most software tied to a machine is done with the mobo (i.e. Windows), so if I upgrade my mobo, I can’t access that game any more? That is

You’ve been promoted. Please hand in your helmet and report to the front lines.

He doesn’t have a hat! His heat is escaping trough his head!

For me it comes down to comfort. Hands on a mouse and keyboard just isn’t as comfortable as my controller especially for long play sessions. It’s much easier to move around with my thumb on the analogue stick vs having my middle finger pressing down the W key on the keyboard for long stretches of time. Also, on that

Some games don’t lend themselves well to a keyboard. At the end of the day a keyboard is made for typing, while a controller is laid out to be for playing games. Try playing say...any good beat em up on a keyboard and you’ll just have a bad time.

Problem is you have to switch it per game right?

Unrelated rant: There is almost no excuse for any console game to not allow you to fully remap the controller.

Very excited to hear about the tragic cease and desist that supposedly comes out of left field.

I think it’s completely fine to say “hmm it’s a short game, maybe I won’t spend $18 on it til it’s on sale.” That’s a completely fine reaction to have BEFORE you spend that money. But to say “man I really enjoyed it but it’s short, I think I should get a refund” is dumb as fuck.

Still....18$ is a lot for that short of a game. I know it’s like splitting hairs but I feel like 15 bucks is the upper limit on “short indie game”

Yeah, from all the Twitch Twednesdays and Clueless Gamer bits, Bley has come a long way from behind-the-scenes tech-guy to Clueless Gamer co-host to now a man able to host a weekly Twitch stream with confidence. Its been really cool seeing his progression the last 2.5 years or so.

Wow. “Thanks for making me feel like a Beatle,” sums it up pretty nicely. I think it’s fantastic that Aaron gets such praise after being just number two for so long. It’s like Ron Weasley becoming the Quidditch rockstar — he finally gets a piece of the Fame & Glory pie. That moment when the crowd starts chanting your

Nothing kills the hype for a video game faster than the creator immediately insulting the crowd’s reaction to the trailer and then playing it again until so he can hear a better one.

Is that the engine from Agni’s Philosophy etc?

Still? I mean, I guess, but it was paired down for Final Fantasy XIV, FFXV is the first game to take full advantage of it. It’s still a fairly new engine, and still relatively untested.
