Interesting. It’s good to know I suppose because I have a USB-C phone and switch and considered the chargers to be interchangeable. Not including the switch, I have always swapped out chargers and cords with tablets and phones and never had a problem yet. Sounds like USB-C is not that simple though.

Using a charger with higher rated current than the device being charged should not be a problem because the charger only supplies what current the device pulls. A properly-functioning device should limit its current draw to whatever it can handle without overheating or ruining the battery. I would guess that the phone…
