Jeebus, it's the AV Club. Criticizing popular media is what we do here, for fun. It's a hobby, not a job! I don't see how it's a raw deal to try and improve the movie before it gets made, rather than bitching about it after it's released. If you're ambitious you can even do both! It's a win-win
