I saw it less as an anti-hero story, and more of a good old fashioned tragedy, straight out of the MacBeth/Oedipus style concept. It was a man whose pride kept leading him forward, and at some point he decided he had gone 'too far' and thus it would be better to go forward than it would be to go back. Ozymandius works
