Let’s break this down:

It really is incredibly well written. Several passages brought me to tears, both sadness and joy. The recounting of Election Day 2008 was just masterful storytelling.

Oh great now you’ve got me wondering what kind of filthy book Michelle would write about Barak. I both love and hate you for that. 

It should be. Apart from its inspirational appeal, it is also damn good writing. Some of the passages are quite literary yet unfussy. She and her collaborators did an excellent job.

I haven’t bought the book because I’m working full-time, going to grad school full-time and I’m a mom whose husband works nights. However, I will buy my copy this weekend, precisely to help keep her book on the top where it belongs. I may not read it until May, but Michelle will understand.
