i have been in the industry for about 11 years now and service generally outweighs looks unless the person plays the flirt card with a total moron. the servers i have known that have always made the most money were unattractive and annoying but ridiculously good at service. btw her gushing over your tip is crazy…

there are many many service industry people that will absolutely argue you to the ground against removing tipped wages. the tipped wage keeps prices lower, encourages foh workers to actually do their job, and rake in serious money. servers and especially bartenders make a bonkers amount of money on this system.

i passed a minimum of 6 addicts biking home from work. they were mostly white. it’s usually a good mix but varies from street to street. if anything I feel like the stereotype would be cloak feeding daggers addiction because black dudes are all drug dealers.
