Yeah, I remember when (future-Jicks member!) Mike Clark was chosen as Sassy's Sassiest Boy in America (1992?), and when he and his girlfriend didn't act like they'd just won the lottery, they cooled on him really quickly and wrote 'The Sassiest Boy We Could Find' as his headline.
I am now going to use "Do not Wesley Crusher the dog" in a sentence, once every day this week.
I can see a million tech support uses for this, because I wish to God the client I am currently dealing with had this kind of interface available to him RIGHT NOW. Trying to help with him, I have discovered he absolutely, infuriatingly, canNOT read directions right.
Um....am I the only one noticing that Gosling's wearing an outfit that would make Zach Quinto say "too obvious."?
Ooooooh, yeah! I'm buying this.
Randy Travis? Randy FUCKING Travis?! Someone on the Jezzie editorial team do some video archive research, because *this* guy is Marcus Bachmann x 1000.
yeeeesh. My apologies. Plan B is is like making yourself puke on the sidewalk in front of the house party you're being kicked out of, just so it won't be a hundred times worse later. Necessary, un-fun and and not something for other people to have opinions about.
go to Seven Corners on 21st & Powell, in SE, near Dots and the Clinton neighborhood. I've been taking in vintage Schwinn 3-speeds and 10-speeds fir 15+ years, and they're just great.
I did something similar once with 'Meet Dave,' and it came out A-MAZING. If you remove the tiny-aliens-in-the-robot-body footage, what you're left with is a 20 minute film of a high-functioning autistic wandering around New York.
@Bender Speaks Jive: Wow. Jeff Daniels looks like crap.
It's set in Earth-16, its own continuity, but that continuity *is* canon to the DC multiverse. For my take on it (and I could be wrong), check here:
@Truye: As a child, my mother told me that Wilford Brimley was gay. No reason, it was just something to know about him (I had a hippie mom, with openly gay friends. There was nothing derogatory about it.)
@wagedomain: We had to watch the pilot to Lost in a TV Crit Theory class in college, back in Fall 0f '05. Everyone pointed out that the polar bear from ending was the bear from the comic. I politely told the class that the bear was a red herring, and the bigger issue was that the comic itself was a pre-Crisis,…
Kim Kelly is a Friend of Mine, anyone?
@WizardDentist: I bolted twice. The first time I ended up getting 4 weeks of intensive mental health care and carefully returned to our old apartment. She was waiting, not entirely trusting, but willing to listen. We rebuilt our relationship, nearly from scratch, and had 14 mostly wonderful, magical months…
@crickitobs: No joke. Ask me sometime what I know about the aborted POTC cartoon.
@WizardDentist: do you know where he moved out to? I've had a recurring mental health issue that makes me feel the need to "bolt," no stress required. My incredibly brave, patient girlfriend had to deal with this shit, because of me, and of the two times I bolted, neither were particularly well-thought out. I…
@Queenjulie: Possibly. Was it a referral for an apartment, or a job?
@reluctantfeminist: How do I make this? How do I make this??!!
