This should also make anything with a screen much easier to swivel. Hopefully we will cheaper swinging screens for digital cameras and camcorders as well.

Does this mean that Sonicare's soon won't need toothpaste?

@TallDudeFromBrazil: First, Google used to sell phones, it was called the Nexus One. Second, yes the OS is free, but Google DOES make money from every application purchased through the store, and through advertising on the platform.

If google is just counting activations, I have 5 over the last 3 days all on the same phone.

There were really THAT MANY MORE light sabers in the first few episodes? It looks like they MASSIVELY over-used them.

If it came with a stylus...

All great in theory, but I am sure the person who makes all 7 will make backups...

First, Verizon plans weren't ever really unlimited. They killed your speed over 5 gb.

There is nothing new about this, and CSP using salt or something similar has been around for ages (decades) and has always been more efficient than regular solar. I saw one at the national labs several years ago, and it was built like a decade before.

@DaveyNC: I need to put more sarcasm in there. I am really getting at the fact this costs them nothing to do because there is a 25 fold markup on these rubber bands.

They are going to lose a fortune! I mean they are worth $25 each right? I mean a 100% markup would be reasonable, so on two million phones they will be losing like $25 million dollars. Of course it might not be that much if the markup is more like 2500% then they paid more to invite everyone over to campus and have El

Okay it might work differently. I have been reading a bit more and it all looks confusing. I guess that nobel winning physicist was feeding us bunk during that in class experiment...

You can't patent this! I am not sure whether or not to say Bad Apple, or Bad Patent Office, but this is really, really ridiculous. It's like look everyone! We decided to patent what you all have wanted forever! Everyone has described it, and talked about it. A dock you could just drop your phone into no matter what!

@JACrazy: Sure, it's actually pretty easy. First, it is the magnet that is levitating and it is doing so over the super conductor. And it floats because of Lenz's law, and is very similar to how we make electricity in electric generators.

Stupid, stupid moto. What has happened is that they have a whole lot of leftover software engineers from their previous days where they built whole operating systems for phones. Those guys tell the VP's "we can make it more betterer! And then you will have a software and hardware domination like APPLE."

Question: Can you autotune a vuvuzela?

@RockstarAgent: Yeah and they could power it by having 100 million people to blow on straws at once, and it would only cost 5 dollars!

The fastest man-made object in history is helios 2 which achieved a speed of 153,000 miles per hour in outer space by falling into the sun. Railguns we have to day are still an order of magnitude slower than that.

The real problem is that we have had a softening of the American education system. Somewhere in the last 20 years or so we started to think that the only important thing is "getting the answer." Now students think understanding is the same thing as being able to put the right answer to the question.

Okay, I was tracking with you perfectly, until I got to picture 4...who has this house and puts a dinky 42 inch TV ON THE FLOOR!!!!!!!!!
