Are those moon pies or whoopie pies? I'm good either way, but inquiring minds want to know.

I do not think that learning a programming language is the best way to accomplish that goal.

How is the actual cost of rent less than the projected cost? That number tends to be fixed.

Sidebar: are there any iOS screen sharing apps that use bluetooth? I have an iPad I'd like to extend my desktop to, but at work the network is locked down so I can't do it over wifi.

You should really read the whole thread.

I agree completely, as I've said.

I'm not offended. It's all good.

I think providing the opportunity is great. I have a friend whose daughter is in an after school program where they learn how to code. I can't remember the name of it, but it's provided by the school. I just am not on the "teach it to everyone like a core discipline" train is all.

Well, unless I mistakenly have someone else in mind, you've been gnawing on this bone for a while now, and constantly, so I wouldn't be surprised if you ran into all kinds.

God I hate documenting. Yay for tech writers!

I'm aware of that tendendcy, that's why I prefaced my statement with the understanding of my potential bias. I was basically just reasoning out loud how I may have landed on one side of the fence currently.

You know, it's not the first time I've seen this. There seems to be support for both sides, although to me I think there is more reason to think there is a shortage (the ITIF published a good counter to that EPI research paper the article you link to leads with), but mostly my own experiences line up with the idea

In fact, this is why every child should learn at least one programming language in school...

Documenting code goes well beyond comments.

I really wish more people would do this, specifically at the state and local level where you're even more likely to make a difference. I will add Govtrack as a way to track the progress of specific bills, and that calling may even be a more effective form of contact.

Oh, all will take is congressional action? Guess it will NEVER happen then.

So probably I just got a customer service person who didn't know what they were talking about then.

Your credit card may have "price guarantee".

I had Target refuse to price match their own website not six months ago. Can the policy vary from store to store?

We got two monitors at work last year, one 27" Apple Cinema Display, and one 27" Planar PXL2790MW. I like the cinema display better, but only just barely. The Planar is pretty spectacular and considerably cheaper.
