@zelannii: The 1GHz Snapdragon has shipped in lots of devices, yes. The 1.2 GHz has shipped the CHIP to the manufacturers so they can start making phones, probably by 2011.

@SteveTheSultan: Just an FYI, Google might get on your case for sharing that info. Happened to someone I know with AdSense. I think technically speaking you aren't "allowed" to share your earnings + clickthroughs. I'd check the fine print.
@Tonttunator: You are not right. Microsoft actually updates their OSes less frequently than is average. Apple releases more OSes much more frequently (unless you count Service Packs, which I don't).
@Clashwerk: Yeah I'm really, really outraged that children can't get the brand of gadgets that they want. They should do a piece on 60 Minutes, or some expose on the local news, about this injustice. I'm totally writing an op-ed piece to my local college paper as we speak.
@TheWormInYourApple: Unfortunately, I am having a hard time thinking of a single "serious news source" these days... Wall Street Journal? Maybe?
Holy crap I think I'm a supertaster, this answers so many questions....
@Steeb2er: IIRC, originally the points were going to be redeemable for charity or discounts or something, but no one went along with it so they're just a legacy thing now.
@JimboLodisC: On the other hand maybe those crappy garage bands will play RB3 and learn to play their instruments better.
@DaveExile: Great question. I've only ever seen one iPad "in the wild" - some middle aged woman at the airport. She was poking around on it for a few minutes, looked REALLY frustrated about something, threw the thing angrily in her purse and then pulled out a paperback novel.
@PossibleCabbage: I have problems opening cans after I cut my fingernails. When the nails start to grow a bit more I can get the nail under the tab and it's easy, but until then I have to press really hard and let the tab dig into my skin, else it's going nowhere. It's irritating and uncomfortable.
@☆Giroro G66☆: Good advice but has nothing to do with the article.
Why did they take the Chrome "Home" button?
@Sterling Archer: Can you show me one official announcement saying Gingerbread is 3.0?
I'll point out again we don't yet know that Gingerbread = 3.0.
I am keeping my eye seriously on WP7. Summertime, when I'm in the market for a new phone, I will look again. I love what I see, and use Zune Pass and XBL quite heavily.
@AdoraBelle: I just watched the first two episodes on Hulu, no knowing much about it beyond "Real Life Incredibles".
@Purple Umpteenth - Zombie Dolpharktopus - Watch Farscape or FAIL: I don't know what that image is of. It looks like SNL Weekend Update, with about the same budget...
@jepzilla: Not to mention, it seems like a poor UI choice on a laptop (oh hey where'd my battery indicator go?)
@monsterblues: Why are you assuming some of them didn't?
"Superficial and truly horrible customization that all these phones... inflict on the user"??
