I think the problem is harassment, like so many words, is losing its original- and I would contend, essential- meaning. Harassment is a pattern of behavior, not an incident. If something happens once, it doesn’t matter what is done, it is not harassment.

Isn’t the source material “Get Scarlett Johansson in those little outfits”?

*addendum* My comment has just been upvoted by someone named “funky butt loving” (or alternate spelling thereof). My life is now complete, and I can die a happy man. Well... a slightly less bitter and deeply dissatisfied man, at any rate. Thank you for your approbation, sir or madam!

All of a sudden, I found myself in love with the world, so there was only one thing I could do, was ding a ding dang my dang along ling long.

My god what a monster, using course language.

I didn’t see your comment when I made mine, but I totally agree. To wit:

Uh, can you footnote this statement? Because (after research) I do not see HW attached to the 1982 film Gandhi in any way.

That’s the reason I liked it so much. The people were realistic and complex.

Whoo boy, here we go.

So many people seem to have this tendency when analyzing stories (be they films, books, whatever) of only thinking in absolutes. Just cause Sam Rockwell’s character shows that he’s not a complete monster, does that have to automatically mean the storyteller is absolving him of his flaws?

Cracker Barrel FTW. They could even put those nifty rocking chairs at each charging station.

It’s because when the  background of a movie reviewer is in cultural studies or some other sociology discipline, then a fictional character is not just a character. A character represents an entire race or gender etc.

this whole outrage as the new and undisputed form of social currency is wearing me thin, I tell ya.

WTF did Harvey Weinstein have to do with Gandhi? Is this some kind of fever dream where you lash at an random targets and somehow connect them all?

Wasn’t David Puttnam the producer of Gandhi?

He had founded Miramax by that point, but I’ve found no connection between him and the film Gandhi, which was released by Columbia.

Was Weinstein even involved with the film industry when Gandhi was released in 1982?

This is what people mean when they talk about keeping politics out of video games. Games don’t have agendas, and this game isn’t sending any message.

These fucking Kotaku editors kinda have problems. I wish they would just fuck off with their political views and just talk about games.

Ok well we better make sure tap dancers wear blackface during a portion of their performances or else! These game creators don’t owe anyone some education addendum. I mean this would be insane. Classical music performances with a speech about orphans forced to work building musical instruments? Romance era paintings

Movies like T2 and Jurassic Park, both 20+ years old now, are exhibits A and B when I rant about CGI. How is it that movies made at the very dawn of the technology look better than much of what is released today?
