We used to have a business related discount, but since I don’t work for that business anymore that went away. Still I didn’t see that our move to the new unlimited plan was any more expensive (with the exception of the business discount) than the old plan.

Interesting. For us the cost was the same per line for unlimited data. We pay about $75/line which includes unlimited everything. I believe the data plan is around $25/line of that $75.

Really? Why? I looked at this a couple years ago and didn’t see any real value to keeping it. I now have unlimited data pretty much the same as before but now with the hot spot capability.

Well I won’t comment on how good or bad of job we’re doing down here but yes, it will be harder to contain especially when you have people like the dad and daughter who went to a dance even when they were told to self-quarantine due to possible exposure.

You cared enough to reply. And fuck you, someone posted their opinion on the song and I posted mine. That’s called debate you ass-hat. Maybe you should try it instead of throwing out your little smarmy remarks.

Understood. In that regard I don’t see that we are at pandemic levels yet. Sure, epidemic levels in China and some other countries, but not globally. At least not yet. I think this may have been more contained had China done more to restrict travel into and out of the country initially.

That’s kind of how I see it. What constitutes a “pandemic”? Is it numbers of countries infected or numbers of people? Right now it seems the infection numbers are low except for Italy, China, S. Korea and Iran. That will change, especially in the US once we get more testing done.

I don’t know how many of AT&T’s grandfathered unlimited plans are still out there in the wild

How do you determine the manufacture date of your device?

Which was unknown to me. I’ve seen the show and frankly don’t recall, though it may well have happened, anyone referring to the Continent.

Ah, I’ve seen the show but was unaware of that linkage. Thanks for clearing that up.

the Catchiest Song on the Continent

Nothing wrong with being cautious at this stage, still I feel there is a bit of hysteria building and we’re still early for that, imho. That said I am avoiding large gatherings whenever possible.

Well, I think it is irresponsible for any organization, WHO,CDC or other to be projecting any sort of mortality rates on this outbreak at this time. It causes fear and panic. Furthermore I believe you are incorrect in believing that the President isn’t being briefed by scientists and doctors on this situation.

How do you know he’s in a high risk group? From what I’ve read it’s not particularly dangerous for healthy people under the age of 50.

Seems like you’ve fully embraced stupid from that comment.

To be fair you might not believe everything someone with a Dr. in front of their name tells you. Wasn’t it a WHO doc that was touting a 3%+ death rate? You and I know full well that we cannot possibly offer a realistic mortality rate for this disease since 1) we have had limited testing and 2) there is under-reporting

No one said that libraries were cheap, but as you pointed out we spread that cost around so no one has to pay a huge amount. And your use is, for the most part, free. So if you use them a lot it’s a much better deal for you than buying your own books.

No, it doesn’t. Lots of things can be similar and yet different. A Porsche is very different than a Ford F-150 and yet they can both transport people from point A to B. Just because 2 things are not identical doesn’t mean you can’t compare and contrast them. Cheap drugs and cheap vaccines are the same to the patient.

Well they’re both tasty and edible. And they provide certain nutrients to the human body. Different and yet similar. Much like preventing access to inexpensive drugs from Canada is different yet similar to preventing access to inexpensive vaccines.
