I don’t recall seeing anything in this article that indicated he was advocating for violence against anyone. He may be doing that but this article didn’t give any examples. The examples they gave seem pretty harmless, though you might get your feelings hurt.

Why not? Do you think you’re entitled to any portion of his wealth? Well, that’s just you being greedy. Get off your ass and go be successful and quit whining about what other people have accomplished baseby.

I was thinking the same. In fact I was wondering why Jizmodo is a day late in reporting on this story. It was all over the news and other sites yesterday.

Speeding is a harmless behavior? It’s the 3rd leading cause of automobile accidents? What if a person has a history of reckless driving? Or even drunk driving?

A gps receiver, like the one in your phone does not transmit your position. You need an app to take that data and upload it to something so someone can track you, like Fine Me on Apple phones. The government doesn’t have default access to that, or at least they don’t have legal access to that.

Everything you do could be a reason for why you committed a crime. You bought a nice new sports car, let’s make a note of that for when you go speeding down the highway. Let’s definitely keep a record of every time you buy alcohol because you might commit a drunk driving offense.

I don’t think anyone here is advocating for hate mongering. But, sometimes statements are taken out of context or perverted to make it seem like something else. For example, just because I say I think we should secure our borders with Mexico doesn’t mean I hate Mexicans. Just because I think gun violence in Chicago is

The government’s jobs is to surveil you? If you believe that then why don’t you just let them install an app on your phone and computer so they can track your every move?

True, though one could argue that maybe your employer should know if you’re out there spreading hate and bigotry. But, the case may not always be as clear cut as this one.

That’s not really true. Any country that considers itself to be “free” has no laws against hating people or being a bigot. You cannot incite violence against others but you are free to hate them all you want and to further proselytize that hate as long as you don’t encourage violence.

So if it’s not illegal why does the government need to make a record of it? The implication is that they may use this in the future as evidence against you. Should the government keep a record of every email you send or receive? Every phone call?

It’s called intimidation and harassment. How would you feel if the FBI showed up at your place or work and didn’t actually arrest you for any crimes but made it clear “we’re watching YOU”. I think that would make anyone feel uncomfortable. I don’t think the government or law enforcement’s job is to be our social

That’s a bit of a nebulous question. Do you have a specific example in mind?

I agree that the “algorithm” deserves some inspection. Since we don’t have that here we can only speculate. My question would be doesn’t the company indicate the pay for a particular delivery? The article seems to indicate that it does, but maybe I misunderstood that. If they don’t that would be a problem and I

I didn’t say they didn’t have a right to be mad. However, the article did state that the pay was above industry standards. If the business isn’t sustainable because of labor cost what good is it to keep paying people above average wages if the business will eventually fail? Would you rather take a pay cut and keep

That comment was based on the following from the article:

While it’s true that corporations exist to make money you cannot infinitely raise prices and lower wages especially in a competitive market. And large corporations can do things the small guys can’t so what may be possible for Amazon may not be possible for the mom and pop retail outlet.

I didn’t say it has no value. I said that an unskilled worker isn’t going to be as highly paid as a skilled worker.

I think by on-the-move he means not being at home. I don’t think he means being in a car driving around town playing video games. I can see the advantage, assuming you can get a decent play experience, of being able to use basic hardware and a fast Internet connection to play games. I can’t easily haul my desktop

I don’t think you can lay all the blame on people who started these companies. The people that went to work for these companies also wanted to profit from the work and now some of them are mad because their gravy train just got shut down.
